He learned composting and integrated pest repellents, transforming his land into aflourishing nutrient garden with a diverse rangeof organic vegetables and fruits. "From onions and tomatoes to mangoes and papayas, my garden thrived," he proudly recounted.

The benefits extended beyond his family’s table. Surplus produce provided additional income of Rs. 400 – Rs. 500 per market day. Despite challenges from stray animals, his commitment to organic farming remained strong. "The nutrient garden not only provided fresh produce but was also cost-effective and sustainable," he admitted.

Inspired by his success, other villagers adopted sustainable practices, creating a community-wide shift toward better farming. • Mrs. Asha

My name is Asha, wife of the Late Shri Arun, residing in Bahadurpur, Tehsil Sardhana, District Meerut, hailing from Block Sarurpur Khurd (Uttar Pradesh). I come from an weak and poor family of the Scheduled Caste. For the past 1.5 years, I have actively participated in the “Saksham” Project led by Meerut Seva Samaj. Currently, I serve as the president of the 'Saraswati Mahila Self Help Group' Sarurpur. Sadly, my husband passed away due to illness on 27/02/2017. I now manage my family household responsibilities and expenses by making prudent savings through women's self-help groups.

Last year, during a meeting organized by Meerut SevaSamaj, I was introduced to football making training facilitated by the district industries center for a self-help groupwomen’s. Following this, on 10/05/2022, I submitted necessary documents including proof of residency, caste, income, Aadhar Card, Bank account details, and an eligibility certificate. Subsequently, I participated in a football making training program provided free of charge. In the past, I was involved in labor-intensive tasks, procuring raw materials from the market to craft footballs. By distributing the final products to nearby retailers, I have successfully transitioned to generating a daily income of Rs 300, totaling Rs 9000 monthly from this football-making venture.

This new venture has not only provided me with a steady income but also a sense of accomplishment and pride. The process of crafting each football, from stitching the panels to ensuring the perfect shape and durability, has become a fulfilling routine. Seeing the enthusiastic response from local manufacturers and resellers has been incredibly rewarding. Their positive feedback and growing demand have motivated me to keep improving my skills and exploring new opportunities within this field.

As a housewife, I rarely ventured beyond the confines of our home. However, through the enlightening from the project, I have come to understand the importance of independence. Now, I regularly working foe my family and embracing the newfound sense of empowerment and autonomy that has permeated my life. The journey with MSS has been a life-changing experience for me. It has awakened within me a sense of purpose, and I am very grateful for the opportunities and support that have propelled me towards a brighter future. With each passing day, I am inspired to continue working towards the betterment of my country, my family, my community, and myself.
    Thank you...
