Director's Message

“We must be the change we wish to see in the world." Marian Wright Edelman,

This powerful quote captures the essence of our work – to be the agents of positive change for those facing adversity. Meerut Seva Samaj (MSS) was the harbinger of change from the very inception in western parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. We strive to not only provide essential services, skill training etc. to the people in need, but also foster peace and harmony, tolerance, and understanding within the communities we touch. MSS is committed to empowering individuals, families, and communities to reach their full potential. Jane Addams so eloquently stated, "Our job is not to make people happy. Our job is to plant seeds of possibility." By providing essential services, advocating for social justice, fostering collaboration, and providing the right platform to exercise their rights and duties, we plant those seeds and cultivate a brighter future for all whom we come in contact. MSS believes, that by addressing the root causes of social issues, we can create lasting change in the society.

I am overwhelmed with a deep sense of pride in all of you – the dedicated staff, field workers, volunteers, advocates, benefactors, different stakeholders including supporting partners especially Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Caritas India, Manos Unidas, Diocese of Rottenburg, Missio, Communio India, Friends of Sacred Heart, UKSVK, Misereor, Daurala Sugar mill, CCBI Migrant Commission, your unwavering commitment to making a difference in the life of the people is the backbone of MSS social service.
